“I’d rather be in the mountains thinking of God, than in church thinking about the mountains.” – John Muir
I’m Payal Singh, a graduate from Mumbai University who did her Bachelor’s in Mass Media, specialised in Journalism.
I made two decisions before I left college. One was to travel and Second was to make a difference and I did both.
I knew the city zapped out the life out of me and I also knew I had to recharge my batteries.
I told my dad in Jan 2018, I needed to take time off and trek. He was very happy, but not with my plan of a month. “Go for two weeks,” he said, “then come home to rest.”
That’s when I found Green Trails, a 4-month fellowship in the Himalaya’s on waste management. But it wasn’t easy to find at all.
I just wish one person, other than your parents told me while I was still in college, that it was okay to do something for yourself, for society and not for the money or the CV.
My parents are extremely supportive people, and everything I have done, or will be doing is due to their unconditional support.
The reason why I want to share this information with you is that I hope you find your inner courage to pursue your dreams.
